Privacy first
All data is stored within the EU, encrypted with AES-256, and a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) is ready to sign for every customer.
Nordic focus
Questionnaires and reference reports in Norwegian Bokmål, Nynorsk, Swedish, Danish and English. Vipps identity verification for trusted recruiters (coming soon).

Referansio is owned and operated by WebViking.No – Gawin (org. no. 933 842 266) in Oslo — a Norwegian product company with experience from HR-tech, fintech and public-sector digitalisation.
Why we build Referansio
A bad hire costs on average 1.5 annual salaries. Yet many Norwegian companies skip the reference check — or do it so quickly it provides no real value. We think the reason is simple: a good reference check is time-consuming, hard to keep objective, and demanding to document under GDPR. With Referansio we remove all three barriers.
Content and sources
Guides, blog posts and industry pages on Referansio are written and quality-assured in-house. All factual material is based on primary sources — first and foremost guidance from Datatilsynet (the Norwegian Data Protection Authority) on privacy and reference checks, and current legislation on Lovdata (the Personal Data Act, the Working Environment Act and the Equality and Anti-Discrimination Act). Articles are updated whenever the rules change, so the content always reflects current Norwegian law.
